Lynda Barness has had a diverse career path. Most recently, she is the founder of LB Literary Projects and is a publishing professional, both as an author and advising and editing for academic publications. This followed her earlier careers as a real estate developer and homebuilder and as the owner of a wedding planning company. Barness is the author of four books and the editor of more. Barness and Rabbi Lance J. Sussman, Ph.D., have partnered in literary projects since 2022.

Barness has served on the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, the Vice Chair of the Board of Overseers at the School of Veterinary Medicine there, the Board of Trustees of Delaware Valley University (then known as Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture), and she chaired the MBA Advisory Board at Temple University.

Barness also served on the County of Bucks Agricultural Preservation Board, on the Warrington Township Economic Development Advisory Board, and the Bucks County Community College Foundation Board. She holds a Certificate in Copyediting, Proofreading, and Fact-Checking from New York University, a Master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in International Relations, and a Bachelor's degree from Tufts University.
