Lynda Barness.

GROUNDED IN SCHOLARSHIP, LEADERSHIP, AND VOICE.

Lynda Barness is an author, editor, and publishing advisor whose work centers on historical, academic, and thought-leadership projects. She is the founder of LB Literary Projects, a publishing consultancy dedicated to rigorous editorial standards, clarity of voice, and intellectual integrity.

Her career reflects an unusually broad professional path. Before founding LB Literary Projects, Barness worked as a real estate developer and homebuilder and later owned and operated a wedding planning company. These experiences shaped her ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects and bring ambitious ideas to completion with precision and care.

Since 2022, Barness has collaborated on and authored major literary and scholarly projects with Rabbi Lance J. Sussman, Ph.D., contributing editorial leadership, research development, and narrative structure across books and peer-reviewed publications. Her role consistently bridges scholarship and accessibility, ensuring that complex ideas remain both rigorous and readable.

In addition to her publishing work, Barness has held governance and advisory roles in higher education, including service on the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, as Vice Chair of the Board of Overseers at Penn’s School of Veterinary Medicine, on the Board of Trustees of Delaware Valley University, and as Chair of the MBA Advisory Board at Temple University.

She holds a Certificate in Copyediting, Proofreading, and Fact-Checking from New York University, a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University.
